About Me

I'm a Heinz 57 varieties. And proud of it. With a Latvian mother, an Indonesian father, numberless Russian, Swiss, German, Polish, American and even Chinese ancestors and relatives and all major World Religions within our family, I certainly possess a vast cultural heritage to draw upon. I was raised in Germany and Switzerland but I have been living in Scotland for the last 15 years.

Already as a child I was drawn to all things colourful. I loved to do crafts with beads, textiles, paints and papers. I remember that on my very first day at school, I got a big paper cone (a German tradition) not only filled with chocolate and sweets (like all the other kids had) but with a wonderful kit of colourful beads.

But creating jewellery was still a far cry away. I first ventured into marketing, public relations and journalism. And I travelled a lot.

Only after I married, moved to Scotland and had our son as well as a small country hotel on the , I rediscovered my early love for jewellery making.

Now, since we have been retired from the tourism industry, I feel the time is right to completely immerse myself into the wonderful process of dreaming up unique pieces of jewellery for unique women.

My inspiration is the wonderful Isle of Arran with its wild mountains in the North, its cool and shady glens and its soft rolling hills in the South. And, of course the ever changing sea...

Apart from designing jewellery, I teach evening classes in German, Italian and Creative Writing at the local Learning Centre, have and love a smart and clever teenage son, a humorous husband and a trusty dog, a  cheeky cat and an adorable rabbit officially belonging to the teenager in our house who at a point of my life which has escaped my memory employed me as their caretaker.

I still dabble with paints and even sell my paintings in local galleries. And I write and sometimes get published too, although I often take reading as an excuse for not being able to write more...

To bring it to the point: My life has ample sources for inspiration to draw from and put into my jewellery. And that's exactly what I do.
